I stopped by the bar for an Irish coffee treat while running errands this afternoon. Judge me all you want – it’s what I like to do on my day off. I was drawn to this person by their portfolio, and after approaching him/her our conversation steered from art and into a lengthy, in depth discussion about Vancouver, Canada and the current state of American politics – primary hullabaloo and who should be the next president (we both agreed). One Irish coffee turned into three, then just as I was about to politely make my exit he/she offered to buy me another, stating that I was one of the more intelligent individuals that he/she has spoken to in a long time. I took him/her up on it, then sipped happily on my fourth Irish coffee before lunch time.
He/she excused himself/herself for a cigarette, but before leaving…
“Hey, I’ve got a bowl on me if you’d like some.” He/she asked.
Glancing down at my coffee, I responded, “Uh, thanks… I don’t smoke. Alcohol is more my vice.”
“You sure?”
“Yes. But. Thank you.”
And that was that. Sorry if I’m not making much sense, I just drank four Irish Coffees.

I caught an amazing sunset as I left work yesterday evening. Good thing I had my old, trusty Canon s400 point and shoot handy! (Each shot was made at a different angle from the same location… with a steady hand and no touch-ups.)
Oh the mushrooms!

Apparently I was talking in my sleep last night:
“And there are these plants… plants that you can pull on. And then… you get to go to other worlds!”
Now I know what you’re thinking, and it’s simply not true. There’s no such thing as too much Super Mario Bros 2. There can only be too little…
Darn time zones

I missed the Oscars!
While it pains me to admit that I’ve only seen a few of the films up for nomination this year (OK, I saw one – Juno – which also happens to be the first movie that I’ve seen in a theatre in well over a year!) regardless, it’s become an annual tradition of mine to watch it from start to finish, including all the BS pre and after shows.
So what happened this year? I forgot that on the West coast, anything and everything “Live” starts 3 hours earlier than what I’m used to. Of course! Well the good news is that I won’t have to stay up so late on a Sunday night, in the future.
Testing one…
