Olympic torch?

Not so much. At least I got to see my first San Franciscan protest. It was a biggie!

Wow, that does look like a big one. They've been protesting in Harvard Square as well, but it doesn't have quite the same... size.

That is one colorful protest, and a beautiful day, too. You don't hear too much about Burma, do you? Wait a sec- it's called Myanmar now. Maybe that's their point?

Is someone else out there somewhere marching with a sign that says "Free Constantinople"?

Cool pics.

Pam:

A protest, how retro! Seriously, that's a pretty cool thing to have experienced. Great pics as always.

NPW: Yeah, I couldn't get it all on my camera because the battery was about to die, but wow - so-many-people. While it's awesome to see so many folks passionate about an all important cause, it was disappointing to see the bottleneck and realize, "wow, there is no way that torch is going by here."

Mickey: Or how about, "Free Bird?" Ouch, that was bad. But seriously, people stepped up protesting a whole slew of countries with severe human rights issues. It's like, one at a time folks! OK, joking aside, we have it so good in this country.

Pam: It was cool, and thanks for the compliment. I just wished I dragged my SLR instead of the point and shoot, but I feared that I protester would destroy it with the slightest push. Some photo journalist I would make!
