A few drinks with a Transvestite

I stopped by the bar for an Irish coffee treat while running errands this afternoon. Judge me all you want – it's what I like to do on my day off. I was drawn to this person by their portfolio, and after approaching him/her our conversation steered from art and into a lengthy, in depth discussion about Vancouver, Canada and the current state of American politics – primary hullabaloo and who should be the next president (we both agreed). One Irish coffee turned into three, then just as I was about to politely make my exit he/she offered to buy me another, stating that I was one of the more intelligent individuals that he/she has spoken to in a long time. I took him/her up on it, then sipped happily on my fourth Irish coffee before lunch time.

He/she excused himself/herself for a cigarette, but before leaving…

“Hey, I’ve got a bowl on me if you’d like some.” He/she asked.

Glancing down at my coffee, I responded, “Uh, thanks… I don’t smoke. Alcohol is more my vice.”

“You sure?”

“Yes. But. Thank you.”

And that was that. Sorry if I'm not making much sense, I just drank four Irish Coffees.

Mindy:

Only in SF! Sounds like the perfect way to spend a Thursday. Let me know next time and I'll join you!

Yeah, really. I guess the rumors are true about the hippies in San Fran, huh?

M: heck yeah - it's becoming my Thursday thing - I'd love it if you could join me!

S: Matty and I had the following conversation (the other day):

Me: "why does it seem like a majority of our friends are stoners?"

Him: "because we live in San Francisco."

Right-o. However this was my first experience with one that cross-dressed. I should also mention that I was offered 'shrooms from some random guy on the street later that evening. That was another first.

I think I've had that same conversation before. I always worry that I'll be outed as the least cool person ever when I decline the bowl.

N: i'm turning down pot totting friends on a semi daily basis - and yeah, i always feel kind of uncool about it. but seriously, why would I want to wreck my wine buzz?

Haha that's amazing. I love random conversations :) (PS I am adding you to my NaBloPoMo blog roll on my blog! I am going to follow your month)

J: I swear, my life is just one big random conversation. I shall add and read you as well, thanks!
